- Race starts at 9:15 a.m.
- Race will be timed (bibs not included)

2022 5k Walk/Run
After two years of Covid restrictions, we were able to “return to the trail” and sponsor our 11th Annual Strive for 5 Run/Walk Event. With the support of our Lincoln Way community as well as our new Mayor Keith Ogle, it was great to be together again! We gave an honorary mention for our 2020 and 2021 recipients and welcomed our 2022 recipients back to the stage on Breidert Green

2016 proved yet again that the people of the area (not just the Lincolnway area) continue to keep Patricks memory alive and well.
With the change in the course and a few other minor glitches, it still was an awesome day to celebrate Patricks legacy with remembrance, reunion and comradery.
The friends and teammates of Patrick from baseball, football and cross country continue to return reminding us of who Patrick touched in his life and the new people who come, remind us of who he has touched and inspired since his passing. What a wonderful gift to his family! The little soccer players from Chicago Fire were a fun addition to the event this year.
Our volunteers are invaluable to the event running smoothly and the fact that these people have come every year for 6 years and continue to come back and say “what can we do to help?” is a testament to both them and the family. We couldn’t do this without you, thank you!

2015 5k Walk/Run
Well, it had to happen at some point, we all got a little wet. But the misting rain didn’t seem to dampen any spirits. Taylor Jach brightened things up with a lovely rendition of our national anthem. The runners took off on time at the exact moment the rain was the heaviest. After the race, Dr. Kevin Suchinski delivered a positive message on the 5 pillars of our foundation and how all of us need to strive every day to be the best person we can be. Even with a few remaining raindrops, almost everyone stayed as the past and present scholarship awardees joined the Mizwicki Family onstage. 2014 5k Walk/Run
Once again, we were blessed with fantastic weather for our 3rd run on May 31, 2014. The sunshine brought out additional runners and walkers who were able to register the day of the event and help support our mission of continuing Patrick’s legacy.
Our previous scholarship recipients were invited on the newly renovated stage, on Breidert Green, with the Mizwicki family to present this year’s scholarship awardees as they go on to continue their education and to Strive for 5. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to seeing them next year.
Mayor and Mrs. Holland were on hand to cheer on our runners and to see the Village come together for an event that brings people of all ages together with a common goal: to encourage our LWE students to continue to touch lives by modeling the Strive for 5 pillars as they move forward.
2013 Car Wash event

2nd car wash event at St. Anthony Church parking lot on September 14th. Strive for 5’ers along with 7th and 8th grade Religious Education Program students will wash cars to raise money for the programs’ scholarship fund. Come on out, get your car washed, have a hot dog and visit with friends.
Free will offerings gladly accepted! See you there between 11am and 3pm!

2013 5K Walk/Fun Run
On Saturday, June 1st, over 600 people came out to this year’s event. Patrick provided us with the best 5 hours of weather in the entire week. This year’s race was timed. After the race, we recognized and awarded this year’s scholarship winners. We also brought back last year’s recipients up on stage. We have now awarded over $20,000 in scholarships. Of course, none of this would be possible without terrific business sponsors, the Village of Frankfort, and the generosity and support of the community.

2012 5K Walk/Fun Run
On Saturday, May 19th, we held out first annual 5K Walk / Fun Run. Close to 800 participants met at Breidert Green, in Frankfort. It was a beautiful day as so much of the community came out to support the foundation and to celebrate Pat’s memory.
